Xbox Headsets| Thursday, July 19, 2001 9:55 AM. | NightHawk
Microsoft has chosen the company Plantronics to make Headsets for the Xbox. These headsets will be plugged in directly to the console and it will allow communication between players through online games.

"Microsoft understands the impact that voice controlled performance will have on the Xbox experience for gamers. We are very pleased to have been chosen to develop a unique product for the Microsoft Xbox," said Neil Snyder, president of Plantronics' Computer Audio Systems Division. "Plantronics' leadership in both audio and voice input, as well as our expertise in building headsets that are lightweight, comfortable, durable and, most importantly, cool, will allow gamers to immerse themselves in their gaming experience."

Exclusive Interview| Wednesday, July 18, 2001 3:42 PM. | NightHawk
Like I promised, here is the interview. Dave Manachi and I had a chance to communicate wand I asked him a few questions about the upcoming game, Fallen Age.

Check out this exclusive Tempest Tek interview here.

Hope you enjoy :)

Guess Who's Back?| Wednesday, July 18, 2001 3:33 PM. |  NightHawk
That's right, I AM BACK! Anyways, this means that ColdFire has left for Europe. I got some much needed vacation and now I am here to work...like thats any fun. To prove what I say, I am even going to post our new interview with Daniel Manachi. Look for it in the next few minutes.

Apologies to Public| Sunday, July 15, 2001 7:20 PM. | ColdFire
I would like to make an apology to the public, and give an explanation. I, as are all of Tempest Tek, are sorry to keep you waiting so long for new news and site updates. I am leaving to Europe in 2 days, so I will not be around. But NightHawk and the other staff members will be here. My explanation for this slowdown of work is that 1) NightHawk has been in Brazil with relatives for a while, and 2) I have been working (designing websites and such). So now I am coming back and giving you some fresh material.

First off, I made a new updates section, so not only do you have the news, but you know what is new on the site. Also, I have put in the first column entry. This is a big step. And last, I have been prodding the other two staff members to do some work. And last, I have been doing a lot with Deviant Art. It is a great online art community which is highly interactive and has a lot of interesting members and art. I myself have posted work and messages (I go by the screen-name coldfire3.) and am getting more proficient with PhotoShop 6, so expect some new artwork. So that's it for now, and expect a jumpstart on the site.

Upcoming Interview| Thursday, June 21, 2001 5:51 PM. | Night Hawk
That's right, you read right! Tempest Tek is having its second exclusive interview! This time its with one of the members of the Fallen Age crew! Fallen Age is a brand new Massive Multiplayer game that will be released for the PC later this year. It mixes many genres together and is bound to be great. For more information, check out the official website here:

www.fallenage.com

The questions were already sent it and I just have to receive the answers. The interview should be up within the next couple days.

Splash Contest| Tuesday, June 19, 2001 9:10 PM. | Night Hawk
Tempest Tek launches its first contest with the objective being creating a Splash Image for our intro page. The winner will have his image posted in our intro page with full credits, and 10 runner ups will get their images posted up on the site (also with credits).

Cool Effects| Saturday, June 16, 2001 12:58 PM. | Night Hawk
If you havent noticed by now Tempest Tek now has some cool little effects. On the left and bottom navigation bars of each page the text now changes colors on mouse over. This was accomplished by using DHTML, and thanks to ColdFire for firguring out the DHTML function in FrontPage.  Also, this effect is in every single page, and I accomplished this after a mindless task of saving it to every single page in our site. In the future we hope to add more such effects that make the site cooler, but still keep its professional look.

Tireless Work| Wednesday, June 13, 2001 10:34 PM. | ColdFire
Ah yes, the steam engine that this site has started out with is now a full-fledged home grown magnetic train (for those that have been following technology). We are now having work done on the site constantly, but it is hard to see because it is mostly behind the scenes and tweaking pages. Anyways, I'm sure you are tired of hearing about site updates, but here's one more. The column, a new feature, is like the newspaper, only smaller. It will have someone write a story (non-fictional) about something that is going on in the world. Also, if you would like to apply for editor for the column, click here. So until next time we meet again, Batman, Ciao!!

New Footer| Sunday, June 10, 2001 9:18 PM. | ColdFire
We now have an updated version of the footer. Although it looks the same, for those of you that know FrontPage 2000, it is a shared border. This will allow us to update the bottom more easily. But there is a drawback: we have to go through every page and delete the old footer. I could not start on it now, but I have the entire staff on alert to get this fixed ASAP. So in the future, if you see a double footer on a page, please alert us at tempesttek@hotmail.com. Thank you.

New Art and Other| Sunday, June 10, 2001 2:54 PM. | ColdFire
Life here at Tempest Tek is good, which I am happy to report. New site updates are being made, as you might have noticed from how often the news is being updated. Also, you have seen many new pages and sections appear, due to a larger participation of the staff members. And at this moment, another staff member is going to be added. He will be writing a column for us for the Magic: The Gathering section, which we hope will come in soon so you, our loyal subjects, may read it. Also, we are hoping to gain more staff members because of the larger workload. You may apply here. Some new art updates are added wallpapers (2 Halo wallpapers have been added by NH and myself because we are anxiously awaiting the release of Halo and X-Box). So the site is changing, and it's here for you to enjoy...so enjoy!
